FTG Facts
FTG has been a concept for forest trailers since the 1960s in Sweden and since the beginning of the 2010s in the rest of Europe. Long tradition, high quality, and technical competence are some of the key factors that have made FTG a leading player in forest trailers and cranes segment.
Forest Technology Group, FTG, was formed in 2005 as a merger of leading technology companies in the forest industry in Sweden; Moheda trailers, Wikhede Mekaniska and Källefall.
Moheda trailers, which was founded as early as 1835 in Moheda, in the south of Sweden, Wikhede Mekaniska that started manufacturing the unique patented Mowi parallel crane, developed by Wiking Gunnarsson in Bäckefors and Källefall, a company that originated from the farm Källefall outside Tidaholm in Västergötland, Sweden.
FTG builds and produces forest trailers and cranes at two different production units in Europe. In Bäckefors and Trollhättan, Sweden, we develop and manufacture our premium trailers FTG Moheda and FTG Mowi, and in Vilnius in Lithuania we develop and manufacture trailers and cranes sold under the brand name FTG Källefall.
FTG Cranes and FTG Baltic, the two companies within the division, are subsidiaries of Bruks Siwertell Group, which is a world leader in dry bulk material handling. Bruks Siwertell Group delivers customized machines and systems for e.g. ports, sawmills, papermills, biofuel factories, and bioenergy power plants. Bruks Siwertell Group has been owned since 2018 by JCE Group and Cargotec.

FTG and the brands within
FTG Group – Bringing top brands together
Forest Technology Group (FTG) was established in 2005, bringing together the brands Moheda, Mowi, and Källefall.
FTG brands have been synonymous with excellence in forest trailers in Sweden, expanding across Europe since the early 2010s. Our success is built on a foundation of long-standing tradition, quality, and technical expertise. The products are developed and crafted by people who work in the forest, ensuring practical and reliable solutions. These key factors have positioned FTG as a well respected company in the forest trailers and cranes market.
FTG Group – and more
FTG operates two production units. In Sweden, we design and manufacture premium trailers under the FTG Moheda and FTG Mowi brands. In Lithuania, we develop and produce trailers and cranes sold under the FTG Källefall and FTG Forest names.
FTG also specializes in providing OEM cranes for harvesters, forwarders, wood chippers, recycle trucks, and more.
FTG Cranes and FTG Baltic are parts of Bruks Siwertell Group. BSG is a global leader in dry bulk material handling, delivering customized machinery and systems for ports, sawmills, paper mills, biofuel factories, and bioenergy power plants. Since 2018, Bruks Siwertell Group has been owned by JCE Group and Cargotec.
FTG Mowi
Design of the Mowi cranes is unique. It has characteristics that no other forestry crane has. The parallel-guided crane arm invented by Mowi’s founder Wiking Gunnarsson has been further developed over the years into the highly regarded cranes manufactured in Bäckefors today. Crane manufacturers all over the world have tried to copy this idea but Mowi is the original.
Together with Mowi’s well-built forest trailers, you get an easy-to-operate and agile combination that makes your work in the forest fast, efficient and fun – for years to come.
Mowi cranes are also frequently used on both harvesters, forwarders, wood chippers and on recycle trucks.
FTG Moheda
Moheda trailers was founded as early as 1835 in Moheda, Småland, initially as a blacksmith but soon started to build trailers for the local market. Their innovative ideas spread and sales increased. Moheda was first with lot’s of inventions that are standard on many trailers today, frame steering and hydraulic drive just to mention a few.
Years of constant improvements and development have given us well-proven trailers and cranes with crane-tip control that makes work in the forest a joy with equipment to rely on.
Designed and built in Sweden, by forest people, for forest people, makes for quality equipment that is built to last. And the Moheda reputation for quality means that second hand values are high and used Moheda equipment coveted on the market.
FTG Källefall
By combining our Swedish heritage with innovation based customer needs, we have developed into a company with a wide range of products for both small forest owners to professional users. Källefall celebrated its 30 year anniversary in 2023. But the story of Källefall originates from the late 1700’s, at a small farm in Sweden with a waterfall by a spring, which is what ”Källefall” means in Swedish.
For generations, the family who lived there worked the farm and took care of the forest. In 1993 they decided to start their own forest machine company and called it Källefall, since they built their trailers and cranes on the farm.
In the 30+ years that has passed since the start in 1993, Källefall has grown from local markets in Sweden to the whole of Europe. From just 4 trailer models to more than 20 today, with skilled and keen employees working close together to provide the best suited equipment for you, all across Europe, independent of what conditions or preferences you have.
