Trollhättan Energi’s new garbage truck with FTG V3 crane

Trollhättan Energi’s latest garbage truck is a really nice Scania L340 6×2*4 CBG with bodywork from FAUN Nordic, delivered by Toveks Lastbilar in Trollhättan. The garbage unit has a 1-compartment container, winch and a roof-mounted FTG V3 crane, which enables emptying of various underground containers.

We were curious to see how the new garbage truck worked in reality and got to follow Glenn out and see how it works when emptying recycling containers in the city of Trollhättan.

This type of crane, with a low column mounted on the roof of the truck, for emptying underground bins and submerged recycling containers is common in Europe and FTG has been supplying V3 cranes to these types of garbage trucks in both Greece and Portugal for more than 15 years. In Sweden, they have so far not been so common, but now more and more municipalities and waste management companies are beginning to recognise the benefits of this solution.
