Hjo Municipality chose a flexible combination from Moheda

We visited the municipality of Hjo, which has acquired a truly impressive combination. A Valtra N175 Direct with Twintrac and the largest Moheda crane, the M81DT, which has a reach of 9.4 metres, mounted on a Jake bracket. A 12-tonne trailer, the Moheda M121-4WD, is hooked up to the tractor.

It was sold and delivered by Lantmännen Maskin in Skövde in close collaboration with Hjo Municipality to adapt this flexible combination to meet the municipality’s needs. We accompanied Henrik, who drives the new rig, to hear what he thinks of it. Follow along in the video below. (In Swedish)

As Stefan says in the film, the tractor is a Valtra N175 Direct with Twintrac, colour-matched to the same yellow colour that Moheda has on its trailer and crane. It has a forest cab with an electric turntable and a few special adaptations to make it easy to turn, with ergonomically correct placement of levers, etc., to create the best possible driver environment. A Jake 904 is fitted with an M81DT crane that can be completely removed, which according to Henrik takes about half an hour. The crane is controlled by mini levers and the XCrane system. The trailer is, as mentioned, an M121-4WD with Robson drive. It is also equipped with galvanised insert plates and extension supports, which is very useful when transporting brushwood, as Henrik was doing during our visit. The entire combination of tractor, crane and trailer is very flexible, as the crane and trailer can be connected and disconnected as needed. Perfect for a municipality where the tractor needs to be used for everything from tree and forest management to ditch clearing and snow removal.
